My name is Jeremy Felix and I am the Head Coach of Surrey Sea Lions Summer Swim Club. I have been a part of Surrey Sea Lions from 2002-2007, and 2018 - present. I have trained with WRASA from 2008 - 2018, and coached with WRASA 2016-2017. Additionally I played with Surrey Orcas Water polo from 2011 - 2014, as well as trained and competed with Pacific Sea Wolves from 2016-2017.
As a Swimmer I have been attending and competing at BCSSA provincials annually since 2007. 2022 marked my 12th Provincials competing! I had many amazing coaches inspire me every Summer to set goals for myself, then make plans on how to accomplish the goals. This gave me drive, passion, and self-discipline.
As a Coach, I have been trained through WRASA's senior leadership program from years 2014-2016, as well as coaching for their winter maintenance program from 2016-2017, as well as summer season 2017. I obtained my lifeguard certifications as well as NCCP (Coaching) from Dec 2015 - May 2016. In fall 2018 I started coaching for Surrey Sea Lions, and have enjoyed helping and developing the program since! I started as Head Coach in May 2022 and am excited to see so many new swimmers enjoy swimming and accomplish their goals!
Aside from Swimming and Coaching, I am also an Interactive Arts and Technology student at SFU, and am going into my fifth year. I currently work for the City of Surrey at Guildford Recreation Centre were you can find me guarding or teaching lessons. For fun I like to sing with Crescendo Operatic Society, and am recently joining VYC Voices group in September 2022!
To improve myself further as an Athlete and a Coach, I am taking my Fitness Theory in September 2022 (to become an aquafit instructor), as well as studying Calisthenics in my free time.
ASSISTANT HEAD COACH - Jeffrey Yung
Hello everyone!
My name is Jeffrey Yung, and I’m the Assistant Head Coach for the Surrey Sea Lions Summer Swim Club. I have been part of this team for over 10 years, initially as a competitive swimmer, then as a coach.
As a swimmer, I was able to achieve success and accomplish my goals due to my coaches. This inspired me to become a swim instructor as well to help other swimmers improve and fulfill their own goals, which I have been doing for the last 5 years.
Aside from being a coach, I am also a third year university student and an aspiring accountant. I am very excited to work with you all and look forward to guiding and aiding you on your path to success!
